Jiuligou: The Origin of Tea Ceremony

Jiuligou: The Origin of Tea Ceremony

Tea Ceremony Heritage & Lu Tong's Legacy

Jiuligou Scenic Area, featuring stunning natural scenery and ancient Taoist culture, is the hometown of Lu Tong, a Tang Dynasty poet known as the "Tea Immortal". Legend has it that Lu Tong often brewed tea and composed poems here, leaving relics like Yuchuan Spring and Lu Tong's Tomb. His poem "Seven Bowls of Tea" evolved into the famous tea ceremony in Japan. Today, it is home to tea-tasting platforms and Lu Tong Tea House.

Spectacular Natural Landscapes

Jiuligou boasts numerous waterfalls, with Jiulong Waterfall and Shicao Waterfall being the most magnificent. During the rainy season, Jiulong Waterfall cascades down cliffs, creating mist and roaring sounds. Shicao Waterfall flows through a 100-meter-long stone valley, forming a natural S-shaped riverbed. The area also has unique landscapes like Yixian Cave, Tianxian Bridge, and natural karst caves, offering a vivid experience of returning to nature.

Taoist Culture & Ideal Getaway

The scenic area is rich in Taoist sites, such as Chantan Ancient Temple (a model of Taoist architecture) and Jinluding (known as "Northern Wudang Mountain"). Shuihongchi, at 1,460 meters above sea level, has a unique microclimate, making it an ideal summer resort. It retains stone roads, buildings, and folk customs, feeling like a "paradise", and presents charming rime scenery in winter.
